The Herman Miller Pop-Up Shop

If you'll be in New York City anytime from this week through July 1, you totally need to check out the Herman Miller Pop-Up Shop in Soho. The space is gorgeous, plus they've got tons of you-need-them-now home and office accessories for sale. (No joke. I know I'm biased, but whomever curated the items was pretty genius--it's PACKED with good stuff. My credit card is achin' already.)

Design Details from the Real Simple Pop-Up Shop

Since December 8, several of us from Real Simple have been holding court at our pop-up shop in Bryant Park--and needless to say, I've been spending a lot of time there. It's a lot of work, and a real labor of love.

I am taking photos and tweeting away for our promotional handle @RS_Offers right now, and I can't stop shooting pics of several of the props decorating the shop. And while I know that the look of this event is truly a team effort, I do also know which decor touches are oftentimes my favorite: those from stylist Chip Cordelli. Here's a peek at a few of them.

P.S. Come visit us if you're in the NYC area! The shop runs through Tuesday the 13th. Details are here.

Best of the Etsy / Remodelista / West Elm Pop-Up Shop

You know who's smart? Etsy's smart. And so is West Elm and Remodelista. They all partnered to hold a "We Heart Handmade Art" pop-up shop in the West Elm store on 62nd Street and Broadway on Thursday night (and they've had them in other places and at other times, too--most recently in Austin during SXSW).

The marketing brain in me digs this idea--I think it's a great collaboration. Plus, it's a great excuse for me to hang out in a cute shop with free food and wine. Everybody wins.

Here are some of my favorites:

Canvas bags by Sidney & Sons

General Brooklyn goodness from Claudia Pearson

Handcrafted tableware by Clamlab.com

Gold pieces (some with a horoscope-y twist) by Julie Nolan Jewelry

Papergoods by Enormous Champion

Jewelry by Knock Knock Studio

Papergoods by Crowbiz

Food! FIKA espresso bar!

The (purely paper) Flower Shoppe by David Stark for West Elm

It's raining ICFF in Manhattan, and I've happily spent the last couple of days in design land. First stop: the "(purely paper)" pop-up shop/art installation by designer David Stark for the West Elm store on Broadway at 62nd Street. Everything was created from recycled paper--from individual flowers on stands and in pots to the garden tools and rain boots and the, ahem, David Stark Design books for sale--all to celebrate NY Design Week.

Holy bloomin' cuteness. Check it out:
