Do you dress like you decorate?

I don't. At least, not according to the piles of gray sweaters I recently uncovered while doing the big summer-to-fall closet switch-out.

It's almost astounding that one person can own so much of the same color. Very honestly, I don't actually own a ton-ton of clothes; yet somehow, when I'm out shopping, I have a brain blockage when it comes to remembering that I already have 14 shades of gray in my possession.

Strangely enough, my home is the opposite--so much so that I often wonder if I should tone it down (but don't worry; I won't). I am just not afraid of being bolder with color in my living space. Case in point:

Folding my sweaters, I wondered why this is. Is wearing gray a self-confidence issue--a need to blend in, to cover myself up? What does all the color in my house represent? Do I need a therapy session over this? Or, dude, do I just like to wear gray?

I don't have the answer--probably never will, knowing me. But what about you? Are you also monochromatically inclined? Does the way you dress your home reflect the way you dress your bod?

Grey is a great color on you. I always feel that I dress more conservatively than my house is decorated. However, I do like the color red. What does that say about me?

I'm exactly the same way! I got a bunch of fall/winter sweaters back from the dry cleaner and after hanging them up in my closet I realized that I own exactly three sweaters that aren't black, grey, or cream. (All of which were bought for a specific purpose.) Maybe it's time to consider a wardrobe update, tho grey is a very flattering color.

when you have such a bright personality, a nice neutral like grey will only help bring it out! besides, you don't want to clash with your gorgeous decor!

Aw. Thank you! So NOW I feel like I can go out and buy more gray... (-:

By the way, I love the "pair gold with gray" page in the December issue of RS...perhaps we both should take note?

i'm glad i don't dress like my decor...otherwise i'd wear a lot of light blue and yellow...and that would be terrible. :)

I am the opposite - I like to wear bright pink, bright green, bold colors. When I wear bright colors I think that they make me feel even happier! In my home I don't want anything too bold (other than deep red) because I want it to feel more calm.

That you're totally saucy, lady.

I hate when we lie!

I think I do, actually! Lots of dark neutrals, some new and a little vintage here and there.

I mostly commented to say OMG Amy Sedaris is my favorite person and "I Like You" is probably my most-used cookbook.

Daniel, love that you wear vintage.

And Amy Sedaris! I read recently that she has another book out - "Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People." Seen it? http://www.amysedarisrocks.com/simpletimes/

I know! That gold & gray page is to die for! I've got a collection of each, now let the mixing & matching begin!
